LEADERSHIP ACTIVITY ON FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM MARKETING


A leadership activity has been conducted at B.V.B. College Hubli fallowed by flyer distribution to the key students who came to write the exam of P.S.I.

On 11 October 2009 at 4 p.m. Mr. Pandurang P.K. one of the fellows conducted a leadership activity followed by flyer distribution, on occasion of “police Sub Inspector” Written exam on Sunday at B.V.B. college Hubli with a follower (Mallmma a fellow of D.F.P.). Having interaction 250 flyers were distributed consisted about Deshpande Foundation to 200 students among the 400 people, focusing on Fellowship program, like about the fellowship program, how it helps, what kind of teaching and training will be provided and worth of the program. Apart from this I shared my experience in the Fellowship program and convey them to take use this opportunity by applying to the training program.

LEADERSHIP ACTIVITY: APPLYING FLYERS ON AVOIDING SPITTING IN PUBLIC PLACE

Sucheta a fellow of Deshpande Foundation with the co-fellows Amit and Preeti made flyers with Kannada quotations on not to spit in public places which we applied near petty shops, Revankar complex,Damangi Plaza, Civil courts, Bus stand, Hospitals ,20 Government buses etc.In court a secretary requested us to apply more flyers of this kind and he only helped them to get photo copies of that without any consideration.

LEADERSHIP ACTIVITY: TRAINING TO PARENTS OF SCHOOL GOING CHILDREN

Pandurang P.K. Fellow Deshpande Foundation conducted a leadership activity at Unkal of Dharwad district with Mr. Mallikarjun B.N. as follower on 31-10-2009 at 1:00 p.m.

The activity was took place to “providing training to the parents of school going children” followed by conducting home visit, initially found out the 1 to 8th standard school children in respective houses .    Then assigned to them to reading and writings of Mathes, Kannada, and English and also conducted some oral tests based on their standard to find out the education level of the children by visiting 20 houses. After conducting the test, training has been given to the parents through finding the subject wise weakness of children, that to found in which subject the child is week. Along with the training said about what all responsibility the parents have to take at their children to increase the education level and interest fallowed by importance of the education and its benefit.

LEADERSHIP ACTIVITY: AWARENESS ON RTI

An awareness program was conducted by Nivedita in the area of Barakotri at Dharwad. The program was about the basic information about Right to Information act, its uses and how effectively a common man can put to use this effective tool, to ask for their rights. At the end of the program, the residents came forward and filed an RTI for HDMC Dharwad. The activity was very satisfactory and helpful to the residents of the area.

LEADERSHIP ACTIVITY: RANGOLI AND MEHENDI COMPETITION

This 62nd Independence Day was a very memorable one to the slum people of Unkal and Devi nagar. Rangoli competition and MEHENDI competition were conducted by Nivedita, a Deshpande Foundation Fellow. It brought the people of different areas together and a spirit of oneness. The participants displayed their patriotism by drawing Rangoli in the shape of India map. A feeling of joy and happiness was seen in the people. Men and women took part in the competition with great enthusiasm.

The event took place on the 14th of August from 5.30 to 7:30 in the evening at the Rambhapuri Kalyan mantap. Many people from the local area also took part in the competition. The Rangoli and mehendi designs were very attractive. It made the people of all the age groups mingle, share their experiences and display their talents. The APM of the Deshpande Fellowship Program judged the designs and distributed prizes. The event was a very successful one.

LEADERSHIP ACTIVITY: GREETINGS MAKING USING NATURAL RESOURCE

Darshana and with her co-fellow Pandurang P.K (as a follower) did leadership activity of “Greeting cards making using natural resources” in Bammasamudra village, on the 25th of November 2009 at 5.00 pm in.  Total 15 students of age group 12-15 had actively participated in this activity.

In this activity students used the natural flowers and leaves to create attractive greetings. Participants enjoyed the session involving deeply in making greetings. They received the message that using natural resources also they can prepare beautiful greetings and they can sell it or they can use it to wish their friends and relatives.
